How quickly can I get an appointment?
Appointments are usually available within 24-48 hours at either The Harley Street Hospital or LIPS Healthcare at Battersea Power Station.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can self-refer directly for a consultation. If you have a referral letter or previous scans, bringing them helps, but neither is required to book.
Where do consultations take place?
Dr. Purnajyoti Banerjee sees patients at two central London clinics: Harley Street and Battersea. You can choose whichever is easier to reach.
What are the benefits of minimally invasive surgery?
Smaller incisions mean less muscle disruption, lower infection risk, less blood loss and for most procedures, same-day discharge, with a faster return to normal activity than open surgery typically allows.
How is my treatment plan decided?
Every plan starts with imaging and examination, not assumptions. Non-surgical options are always considered first. Surgery is only recommended when the findings clearly support it.
Do you treat conditions other than the spine?
Dr. Purnajyoti Banerjee’s practice is spine-specific, neck, back and related nerve conditions. For non-spinal orthopaedic issues, he can point you toward the right specialist rather than treating outside his focus.
Will I need to stay overnight after surgery?
Most keyhole and minimally invasive procedures are day-case, meaning you go home the same day. More complex surgery may require a short stay. We have a satae of the art enhanced post operayive recovery pathway that allows patients to go home same day after syurgery. This is discussed and agreed with you well before your procedure date.
Are diagnostics available on-site?
Yes. Both Harley Street and Battersea offer on-site imaging, so many patients complete assessment and diagnosis in a single visit.
